ABOUT ME

I am a mother of 4 with a full time job working for the local authority as a housing officer, originally from Alberta in Canada, I emigrated to the UK in 2003 when my oldest son was 5 months old. By the time my second son was born I weighed 19.5 stone and was very unhappy.

I began my weight loss journey when he was a year old, and reached my goal weight losing a total of 9.5 stone after 2.5 years of consistent exercise and adopting a healthier lifestyle through making good choices when it came to my diet. When my 4th child was 5 months old a friend of mine asked me to run the “race for life” which is where my love of running began, which escalated very quickly and has seen me run 10 marathons, over 20 half marathons and several 10km and 5km races.

I found the world of Triathlon in 2018 when I was invited to do a local Try-a-Tri by a local triathlon club, at that time I couldn’t even swim properly and so I took intensive lesson’s to learn how to swim. I competed in the event, coming in 4th place for the women totally fell in love with the world of multisport and have been hooked ever since! Since then I have completed all distances of Triathlon up to and including Ironman.

I understand the pressures of juggling a busy family life and work and what it takes to fit training in around it all. I myself am diagnosed with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, POTS and Long Covid and have a particular focus on supporting female athletes, as well as athletes who are navigating health conditions which mean that a traditional training style might not be appropriate. As a coach, I have an athlete-centred approach to training, which means you are always at the heart of the plan.. No one size fit all plans!!

As an athlete who has underlying health conditions, and who has come back from numerous injuries and surgeries, I know what it takes to train around ill health and what it is like to come back from injury. This experience and knowledge help’s me in my approach to support you to find success no matter your journey.

I feel very passionate about Triathlon being accessible for everyone, and it is my mission to make this possible by ensuring that we create a comfortable environment for athletes of all abilities.
